Learn to Fly Drones and Have Fun!

dronesLast Christmas, I bought drones for all 3 of my grandchildren and my 2 grown sons.  They had more fun with these drones!  I laughed until I hurt watching them compete against each other.  They are really a blast!  On top of that, drones have become a Huge part of many industries.

Did you ever imagine the day would come when we had little machines that we could maneuver around by remote control?  And, while directing these tiny machines, you could take incredible pictures, spy on your friends (in a fun way!) and even make deliveries?  We are truly living in a day and age where the things we would have thought impossible just a few years ago, are now becoming the ordinary.  Drones are becoming a Trend and are being used for more and more things.  From photos and camera shots that would otherwise be impossible to get; to everyday training and sport models.

Top End Drones – with high-tech cameras – they can take incredible HD or even 4k photos or video.  These drones can fly at Top end speeds that exceed speed limits.  These new toys are becoming more developed with increased potential all the time.

Recreational drones are the next big thing in Hobbies and Outside Entertainment!  By using these small helicopter inspired vehicles, they are usually equipped with cameras and many can be controlled by smartphones as opposed to the paddle controls. They come in various sizes and can range anywhere from (mini) palm sized to (intimidation) basketball sized, and can cost anywhere from $30 to $2,000!

Drone Terminology:  Four propeller drones are often referred to as quadcopters, six propeller as hexacopters, and eight propellers octocopters.

Drone Flying Legality:

These flying machines can legally roam the skies under 400 ft. for recreational purposes.  We do not recommend that you fly them around Government Buildings, Lands or especially anything Military related.  You could be losing your drone forever if you do!

People are finding new uses for drones every day. It is an exciting and growing industry to be a part of! Ariel photographers are now capturing landscapes from previously impossible to reach altitudes, real-estate agents are showcasing properties from breathtaking perspectives, farmers are utilizing 3D mapping to diagnose crop health and optimize growing potential, and companies like Google and Amazon are experimenting with drone delivery.  Maybe you will be the next person to develop a new technology and use for drones!

Remember to Fly Drones Safely:

With so many drone pilots taking to the skies, it is very important that we remember to fly cautiously and with safety in mind. When flying, it is crucial to stay below 400 feet, keep at least five miles away of airports, and never fly above people. Regardless of how much research you have done on a specific drone, it is absolutely necessary to read the owner’s manual from start to finish before flying. Every drone is different and requires a thorough understanding in order to fly safely.

droneThe good news is that drones are pretty easy to learn how to fly!  You can get the hang of it with a little bit of practice.  With that being said, there are a few things to keep in mind. First of all, we recommend starting with a small and relatively inexpensive drone. When learning you are bound to crash a few times and beginner drones like the UDI U818A are durable enough to sustain crashes in the grass without breaking. This will save you money and future headaches. As your skills improve you can then move on to more advanced drones with confidence.
